From time to time I get asked by my ironing clients for other services around Harrogate I could recommend. Having lived in the area for a number of years I’ve a shortlist of my favourite and most trusted shops and services in our wonderful Harrogate town, so I thought I would share one with you today.
I have always found it near impossible to find a superb hairdresser
My sons are blessed. There’s no chance of a thinning head of hair thanks to strong family genes and oodles of thick locks. I’ve always struggled to find a hairdresser who I trust, or once I’ve found them, they’ve relocated elsewhere in Yorkshire. My hair is thick and with the 80’s and 90’s came short cropped hairstyles that were all the fashion. Over the last 15 years I’ve grown it longer again and probably been through around 15 different hairdressers since then too!
Earlier this year my son recommended me to Laurent Bressolles, a start up on Westmoreland Street in Harrogate. Where’s Westmoreland Street you may be thinking? It’s one of those I guarantee everyone knows as East Parade, however it changes to Westmoreland towards the top, right opposite one of my favourite pubs, 10 Devonshire Place (the selection of gin in the Dev is truly superb). So, head up East Parade and you’ll find Laurent’s salon named ‘The French Reception’. With an arty vibe and a G&T upon arrival and prices that are far more sensible than the big salons in the town centre, The French Reception is my new favourite hairdresser in Harrogate.

The French Reception
Laurent is married to Beth and they have settled in Harrogate to raise a family, so here’s one recommendation from a Harrogate business to another. If you fancy popping down to the French Reception, just mention you saw this post and claim £10 off your first cut. I’ll be back soon with more Harrogate recommendations.
